Welcome to Romania! Upon arrival, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to our centrally located hotel, giving you time to settle in and recover from your journey. In the evening, we’ll gather for a relaxed tour orientation before sharing our first dinner together at a traditional restaurant in Bucharest’s atmospheric Old Town.

This first evening is about meeting the women you’ll be traveling with, enjoying your first taste of Romanian cuisine, and easing into the journey ahead.

Today we’ll begin discovering Bucharest by minibus and on foot, moving at a comfortable pace through the boulevards, public squares, and neighborhoods that reveal the city’s many layers. We’ll travel along Magheru Boulevard, Aviatorilor, and Calea Victoriei before stopping in Revolution Square and stepping inside the Romanian Athenaeum.

We’ll also enter the immense Palace of Parliament for a scheduled interior visit before continuing to Obor Market, where we’ll meet vendors, sample fresh produce, and have mici, Romania’s popular grilled meat rolls, for lunch. If the group wishes and time allows, our guide can also lead us through the Old Town. After some time to rest, we’ll gather again for dinner at one of Bucharest’s longstanding restaurants.

Leaving Bucharest behind, we’ll travel toward the Carpathian Mountains and the resort town of Sinaia. Here, we’ll visit Sinaia Monastery before entering Peles Castle, the former summer residence of Romania’s royal family. Its decorated rooms, carved woodwork, and mountain setting make it one of the country’s most memorable historic sites.

After lunch, we’ll continue into Transylvania and arrive in Brasov. Once we’ve checked into our hotel, we’ll take an easy first stroll through the center before sitting down for dinner at a longtime local favorite.

Today is dedicated to truly getting to know Brașov. With our local guide, we’ll explore Romanian and German neighborhoods, visit traditional family-run businesses, and learn how different communities shaped the city over centuries. Highlights include the Black Church, medieval city gates, and the historic main square.

You’ll also have free time to wander at your own pace - perhaps enjoying a coffee and some treats at a traditional bakery, browsing small shops, or taking the funicular up Mount Tâmpa for sweeping valley views. In the evening, we regroup in lively Piata Sfatului before enjoying dinner at a restaurant led by an award-winning local chef.

This morning we drive to Bran, home of the iconic 14th-century Bran Castle. We’ll explore the castle at an easy pace, taking time to enjoy both its interior spaces and surrounding gardens.

Afterward, we’re welcomed into the home of Gabriela, a local craftswoman and dear friend of our team, who lives in a nearby village. Here, we’ll share a home-cooked lunch and watch a traditional Romanian egg-painting demonstration - a meaningful folk art passed down through generations. We'll be able to try our hand at egg-painting as well. The afternoon is unhurried and personal, offering a genuine connection to daily life in rural Romania.

We return to Brașov in the late afternoon, where your evening is free to enjoy as you wish.

Today we’ll journey into Romania’s quieter countryside. Our first stop is Craciunel, a small Hungarian village where life still revolves around farming, crafts, and community. We’ll visit a small spa created by local residents, meet an artisan at work, and taste homemade products prepared in the village.

We’ll then continue through rural Transylvania to Mesendorf, a Saxon village surrounded by fields and wooded hills. After checking into our guesthouse, there will be time to enjoy the setting before we sit down to a home-cooked dinner prepared by our hosts.

This morning we’ll travel to Viscri, known for its whitewashed houses, country lanes, and UNESCO-listed fortified church. We’ll walk through the village, visit the church, and see King Charles’ house if it is open during our stay. If time and access allow, we may also visit the fortified church in Mesendorf.

After lunch in the nearby village of Crit, we’ll continue to Corund and check into our guesthouse. Later, we’ll visit a black-pottery studio to see how local clay is shaped using techniques passed down through generations. We’ll finish the day with dinner at a trout farm beside a mountain stream.

The day begins with a journey to the remote Fantana Plateau, where small farms and traditional businesses remain part of everyday life. With a local guide, we’ll visit a mushroom farm, walk through a peat bog, and spend time with families who live and work in this mountain region.

We’ll enjoy a private lunch at a cheese farmer’s home before visiting a small producer of traditional syrups and jams. Later, we’ll return to Corund for some time to rest before sharing dinner at a farm in the mountains.

We’ll begin the day in Brateiu, where a local Roma family will welcome us into their home to share more about their culture, craftsmanship, and daily life. This personal visit offers a thoughtful introduction to a community that has played an important role in Romania’s history.

From there, we’ll continue to Sighisoara, one of Europe’s best-preserved inhabited medieval towns. Our guided walk through the citadel will take us along sloping cobblestone lanes, past old towers, colorful houses, and small squares enclosed by centuries-old walls. After checking into our hotel, the remainder of the evening will be free, with access to the hotel spa included.

After breakfast, we’ll begin our return to Bucharest, a drive of approximately five hours with comfortable stops along the way. Once back in the capital, we’ll check into our centrally located hotel and leave some time to rest, visit a nearby café, or enjoy one last walk through the city.

In the evening, we’ll come together for our farewell dinner and celebrate the experiences, conversations, and friendships shared across Romania.
