Solo Travel Groups for Women Over 50
You do not need a travel partner. Over 80% of our guests come on their own, and they leave with a group of friends.

The short answer
A solo travel group is a small, guided trip where most people arrive alone. You get company at dinner, a tour leader who handles the details, and as much time to yourself as you want. On Women Travel Tribe trips, over 80% of guests travel solo, groups are small (usually 8 to 12 women), and everyone is 50 or older.

Why Women Choose a Solo Travel Group
You love to travel, but not to eat dinner alone every night
Traveling alone gives you freedom, and it can also be quiet. In a small group you have dinner companions and someone to share a view with, and you can still slip away for an afternoon with a book. Nobody minds.
Someone else handles the details
Hotels, local transport, guides and the day-by-day plan are arranged for you. After you book, you get access to a Guest Portal with packing lists, weather, currency, visa details and other information for your trip. Your airport pickup is included, whatever day you arrive.
Help is close by
Your tour leader and our local network are on call around the clock. If you get sick or something goes wrong, they coordinate care and logistics, wherever you are.
Everyone is at the same stage of life
Every guest is a woman aged 50 or older. The pace, the interests and the questions are similar, so you do not have to explain yourself. That is why many guests say they made real friends on the trip.
Rooms, Roommates and the Single Room Price
This is the question most solo travelers ask first. Rooming options vary by tour, and each tour page lists exactly what is available for that departure.
- A room to yourself. Single rooms are offered on our tours. On some trips the number is limited (for example eight) and they are offered first come, first served, so book early if a private room matters to you.
- Sharing. Many tours also offer a shared room, usually two beds, at a lower price. If you choose to share, we match you with another woman.
- The price difference. On our current trips, a single room costs between $290 and $1,615 more than a shared room, depending on the trip. The exact amount is shown on each tour page.
Going Alone, or Joining a Group?
There is no wrong answer. Here is how the options compare for a woman traveling on her own.
| On your own | A mixed-age group tour | A women-only group for 50+ | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Company at dinner | Up to you to find it | Depends on who joins | A small group of women at your stage of life |
| Planning | You plan and book everything | Planned for you | Planned for you |
| Pace | Entirely your own | Set for a wide range of ages | Set for women over 50, with free time every day |
| If something goes wrong | You handle it alone | A tour leader helps | Your tour leader and our local network are on call around the clock |
| Meeting people | Happens by chance | Happens, but not always with people like you | Built in: over 80% of guests are solo travelers too |

A word about being nervous: almost everyone is nervous before a first group trip. "What if I do not fit in?" "What if everyone already knows each other?" Most of the women around you are in the same position, because most of them came alone too.
