Itinerary

Included meals: Dinner

Arriving in Reykjavik, you will be transferred via FlyBus to our hotel in the city center. The remainder of the day will be yours to rest and recover from jet lag and meet your fellow travelers before meeting for our welcome dinner at an excellent Reykjavik restaurant.

*Depending on flight arrival times, we will arrange a visit to the beautiful Blue Lagoon en route from the airport to the hotel. We recommend booking a flight that arrives early in the morning on this day in order to participate in the Blue Lagoon experience.

Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Today we’ll head out on a guided tour of the Golden Circle, a classic loop from Reykjavík that links three of Iceland’s most important sights in one day. We’ll begin at Þingvellir National Park, where the rift between the North American and Eurasian plates frames the site of Iceland’s first parliament. From there we’ll continue to the geothermal area of Geysir to watch Strokkur erupt, then on to Gullfoss, a powerful two-tier waterfall set in a rocky canyon.

Midday we’ll visit a local greenhouse for a private look at geothermal horticulture and sit down to lunch among the tomato plants, tasting produce grown year-round with natural heat and light support.

Afterward we’ll stop at a horse stable to learn about Icelandic horses through a short talk and live gait demonstration. We’ll return to Reykjavík in the late afternoon, with the evening free for you to keep exploring.

Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch

We’ll set out today along Iceland’s South Coast, a stretch known for black beaches, cliff views, and powerful waterfalls. We’ll start on Reynisfjara beach, walking the black shore and looking out to the Reynisdrangar sea stacks, linked to a local tale of trolls caught by the sun.

In Vík í Mýrdal we’ll stop at the hilltop church for a wide view over town and ocean, then continue to Dyrhólaey, a tall rock arch that turns into a busy bird spot in summer. We’ll also visit the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where we’ll walk a short path behind the falling water, and see the staircase that leads to a lookout above the spray of Skógafoss.

In the evening we’ll also visit the Icelandic Lava Show, where real molten lava is poured indoors so you can see it flow and feel its heat in a safe setting before checking into our hotel.

Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today we’ll continue with a full-day tour around Skaftafell and Jökulsárlón in Vatnajökull National Park. We’ll start by gearing up for the Blue Ice Experience, a guided walk on Svínafellsjökull. After fitting crampons and helmets, we’ll follow a glacier guide onto the ice to see blue ridges, ash-streaked surfaces, and moulins while hearing how the glacier moves and shapes the valley.

From there we’ll drive to Jökulsárlón, Iceland’s largest glacier lagoon, where icebergs drift from the edge of Vatnajökull and slowly make their way toward the sea. We’ll take time to watch the shifting ice and, if conditions allow, stroll to the nearby black-sand shore where smaller pieces wash up and shine against the dark beach.

We’ll return to our hotel in the late afternoon with some free time at leisure before dinner.

Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch

We’ll say goodbye to the South Coast as we head back to Reykjavik, but not before making a few scenic stops along the way. Once we hit Reykjavik, we’ll take a quick 45-minute flight that takes us to the charming town of Akureyri in the north.

This northern town has its own special blend of cozy charm and awe-inspiring landscapes. Upon arrival we'll check into our hotel. In the evening, we’ll head away from the city's glow to try and (hopefully) catch the magical Northern Lights, a natural spectacle caused by solar particles colliding with Earth's atmosphere!

Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Today we’ll travel out of town and straight into the awe-inspiring nature that this part of the country is known for. You’ll take in incredible views of Dettifoss Waterfall, the most powerful waterfall in all of Europe.

From here, we’ll visit Lake Myvatn, known for its boiling mud, lava formations and diversity of flora and fauna. The region we will visit is also considered by many to be the most beautiful in the entire country as it is surrounded by mountains, canyons and cliffs in every direction. Our lunch today will be at a local produce farm set among this breathtaking scenery where we will dine on fresh local dishes prepared by our friendly hosts.

Upon returning to Akureyrki in the evening, you’ll have some free time to spend the evening out and about, visiting any of the cozy local restaurants, cafes or bars.

Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch

The morning will begin with a tour of Akureyri, exploring its unique local cuisine and vibrant artistic culture. From local eateries and food vendors to street art and traditional workshops, you'll get to see a deeper and more local side of this charming town that will leave quite an impression.

You'll also have free time to shop at some of the boutiques and craft shops, giving you a chance to pick up genuine Icelandic products directly from the people who produce them.

For those interested, there will be an optional whale watching tour, offering a chance to witness the majestic marine life in the nearby waters.

Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today we'll catch a quick morning flight to Reykjavik. Once back in the capital, we'll hit the streets for an engaging food-themed walking tour in the city center, tasting classic Icelandic dishes while our guide shares stories about Reykjavík’s past and present. We’ll also visit Hallgrímskirkja and ride up the tower for a wide view over the colorful rooftops and the bay.

You'll then have some free time for shopping, exploring a museum, or unwinding at a spa before gathering for our farewell dinner, celebrating the unforgettable adventure we've had together!

Included meals: Breakfast

You will be transferred to the airport by FlyBus according to your departure flight time.

"This trip was epic! I don’t believe in coincidence. I think this group of women and Sakai and Agnes were meant to be together at this exact date, time and country. The stars aligned. Every event was so well planned. Sakai was an excellent tour leader. He was personable and has the skill to handle all types of personalities."

Iceland

"This trip was everything I hoped Iceland would be. The beauty of this country was awe-inspiring. The team did an excellent job keeping us informed of the changing weather conditions, and the need to revise some of our plans. They did a wonderful job with providing other experiences to offset those which were canceled due to the weather. It was nice of the tour operator to also cover expenses for additional meals as a form of compensation for what we missed.....a nice touch."

Elisa B. M.

Iceland

"Very organized and exciting with Liz as our tour leader. It was my first organized tour and first time with the Women Travel Tribe. Getting to know the other travelers added to the experience. Liz took care of us and was genuinely interested in our safety and enjoyment of each activity. I would be lying if I named one favorite moment. Every site was more spectacular than the next. The Katla Ice Cave tour was certainly a moment I did not expect. It was both scary and exhilarating."

Iceland

"My first group tour so I didn’t know what to expect. FAR exceeded all my expectations. Liz is phenomenal and cannot praise her enough for her ability to work with local guides to keep the trip amazing when frankly, the weather was lousy."
