Thailand Tours For Women Over 50

Thailand feels generous from the moment you arrive, with golden temples, fragrant street food, and landscapes that shift from mountain towns to the sea. Most women in our groups travel solo, so it is easy to arrive independently and feel part of something right away.

Why Thailand Is Such A Good Fit For Women Over 50

Thailand makes it easy to enjoy yourself while still feeling immersed in the destination. In Chiang Mai you can visit temples, browse night markets, and take a cooking class that introduces you to the balance of Thai flavors. In Bangkok the energy is higher, with riverboats, flower markets, and street food everywhere, and if your itinerary includes beach time, the contrast makes the whole trip feel even more complete.

For women over 50, Thailand offers a pleasing mix of comfort and stimulation. The food is exceptional, the hospitality is warm, and there is enough variety to keep the days interesting without making the pace feel relentless. Traveling with a women's group means you can relax into the experience, whether that is trying mango sticky rice at a market, visiting a temple at sunrise, or simply sharing a long dinner with new friends.

Thailand is also a place where solo travel feels completely normal. Many women arrive on their own and quickly find their rhythm within the group. By the end of the trip, the shared moments often matter just as much as the temples and beaches, because the friendships formed along the way become part of what makes Thailand so memorable.

What Women Say About Our Thailand Tours

4 trips

"I have met women on every trip with whom I have stayed in touch; traveled with on our own; traveled to their homes for a visit; or who have traveled to visit me at my home or my winter vacation home. These friendships have been unexpected and surprise blessing of traveling with the Tribe."

"I have been on 4 WTT trips and signed up for another one. Extremely organized, the guide and drivers treat you like a queen, and a lot of fun!!"

"Our tour leader, Sakai, was exceptional. You could see how much he cared for not only the group, but the local guides he arranged, the local economies, and the people of each area we visited. Accommodations were excellent. Transportation was also efficient and clean."

Oaxaca, Mexico

"The trip was a good mix of local color, crafts, and culture The group was really compatible, and we felt like sisters by the end. Both Luna and David were great as was our driver, Ricardo, who took us up into the mountains on very narrow and bumpy roads."

Morocco

"You don't get this on a Gate 1 tour! I have not traveled extensively...and was ambivalent about going to Morocco with Women Travel Tribe but this sums up my experience. Our guides and group were accepting and inclusive with our variety of ages, differing physical abilities, diet requirements and international travel experience. We stayed at great places, visited sites a lot of trips don’t have the opportunity to see, ate like royalty, I NEVER felt unsafe...and we cheered each other on when trying new things. The bottom line is this trip was WORTH.EVERY.PENNY."

Morocco

"Tour leader Sakai and your driver are the best in business. I did trust them with my life and they both fulfilled all of the qualities needed. Sakai is brilliant. Highlights were the women's co-op or eating in homes as opposed to restaurants. But the combo of dining in both with some free time meals was perfect. At restaurants we were always served top delicious food, and accommodations were always charming. I appreciate the use of homespun lodging and not American chains. Definitely will travel with your company again. Thank you for all the energy that your company puts forth. It makes for a wonderful well rounded experience."

Morocco

"Our tour leader (Sakai) and driver (Ziko) made the trip what it was. They were informative, helpful, kept us moving and stuffing as many things as possible in each day of travel. I know that from the Moroccan point of view tourism was down but my observations of other travel groups in Casablanca & Marakesh was that they were more like an inflexible forced march through whatever the group was scheduled to see. The size of our group made it much easier for us to pause, take photos or investigate things further!"

Morocco

"Way too many favorites to choose one. But…spending time with local women crafters was such a heartwarming experience. We go to these countries not only to admire the scenery, appreciate the culture, learn the history, buy their wares but also, so important is to understand, albeit a snapshot in time, what life offers these women (and children) and exchange life experiences. We did this at the Cherry Button Coop. Together we women shared ourselves, we ate, we laughed, we teared up and we danced!"

Thailand Travel FAQ

We offer small-group Thailand tours for women over 50 that may include Bangkok, Chiang Mai, island or beach time, and local cultural experiences. Expect temples, markets, street food, Thai hospitality, and a well-balanced pace.

Yes. Most of our members travel solo, and Thailand is one of the easiest places to do that in a group. You have company for tuk tuk rides, market visits, and beach dinners, with enough free time to enjoy the trip in your own way.

November through February is often the most comfortable time to visit much of Thailand, with drier weather and lower humidity. It is a great season for temple visits, city touring, and relaxing by the sea.

No. US citizens can generally enter Thailand for tourism without a visa for short stays, though entry rules can change. It is always wise to confirm current requirements before travel.
