Why Morocco Is A Rich, Rewarding Choice For Women Over 50
Morocco gives you a deep sense of place right away. In Marrakech you can wander through courtyards scented with orange blossom, browse spice stalls and woven baskets, and return at night to a quiet riad that feels like a private retreat. In Fes, the medina is layered with history, from tanneries and tile workshops to old gates and hidden gardens, and it is much more enjoyable when a local guide helps you move through it with confidence.
For women over 50, Morocco works best when the logistics are handled and the pace is thoughtful. You can focus on the beauty of a desert camp at sunset, mint tea on a rooftop terrace, or a slow meal of tagine, couscous, and fresh bread instead of worrying about navigation. Traveling with a women's group also makes solo travel feel completely natural, especially in busy cities where it is nice to have built-in companionship and support.
What stays with many women is not just the scenery but the warmth of the shared experience. You start the week talking over breakfast in a riad courtyard and end it laughing together on a drive through the Atlas Mountains. Morocco invites conversation, curiosity, and friendship in a way that feels especially meaningful when you travel with other women who value culture, comfort, and connection.

"This was an absolutely fabulous trip. Thanks so much for a great experience."

"You don't get this on a Gate 1 tour! I have not traveled extensively...and was ambivalent about going to Morocco with Women Travel Tribe but this sums up my experience. Our guides and group were accepting and inclusive with our variety of ages, differing physical abilities, diet requirements and international travel experience. We stayed at great places, visited sites a lot of trips don’t have the opportunity to see, ate like royalty, I NEVER felt unsafe...and we cheered each other on when trying new things. The bottom line is this trip was WORTH.EVERY.PENNY."

"Sakai was super great! He's very knowledgeable, patient, caring, very well organized, and he treated all the ladies as queens! Zaid was very sweet, helpful, and a very careful driver! My highlights: the Cherry Button ladies cooperative, the sand storm, the shoemaker and his family, and the disabled women cooperative. I am thinking of going on the Jordan or Vietnam tour next year."

"Tour leader Sakai and your driver are the best in business. I did trust them with my life and they both fulfilled all of the qualities needed. Sakai is brilliant. Highlights were the women's co-op or eating in homes as opposed to restaurants. But the combo of dining in both with some free time meals was perfect. At restaurants we were always served top delicious food, and accommodations were always charming. I appreciate the use of homespun lodging and not American chains. Definitely will travel with your company again. Thank you for all the energy that your company puts forth. It makes for a wonderful well rounded experience."

"I am completing my Moroccan tour and I want to express my appreciation for the professionalism of our driver and tour leader. Both were of the greatest service to our entire group and we enjoyed a beautiful and safe adventure. I particularly want to congratulate this company for finding the jewel who is Luna. Mature, compassionate, a leader, she’s a great human-being. Please pass on my appreciation. You are a great company and I would not hesitate to take another adventure."

"It was amazing in all aspects!!"

"Our tour leader (Sakai) and driver (Ziko) made the trip what it was. They were informative, helpful, kept us moving and stuffing as many things as possible in each day of travel. I know that from the Moroccan point of view tourism was down but my observations of other travel groups in Casablanca & Marakesh was that they were more like an inflexible forced march through whatever the group was scheduled to see. The size of our group made it much easier for us to pause, take photos or investigate things further!"
