India is intense, beautiful, and unforgettable, with palace cities, marigold colors, temple rituals, and food that lingers in your memory. Most of our members come solo, and traveling with a women's group makes it easier to stay open to the experience instead of overwhelmed by it.

Why India Can Be Extraordinary For Women Over 50

India asks a lot of your senses, and that is part of what makes it so compelling. In Rajasthan you move through cities of rose, blue, and gold, from Jaipur's palaces and bazaars to Udaipur's lakes and Jodhpur's fort walls. Add the Taj Mahal, spice markets, richly layered food, and everyday rituals of devotion, and the trip becomes something far deeper than a checklist of sights.

For women over 50, India is often best experienced with structure and support. There is so much to absorb that it helps to have logistics handled and trusted guides shaping the day well. That allows you to enjoy a cup of masala chai on a quiet terrace, a textile market, or a temple visit without the fatigue that comes from figuring everything out yourself.

A women's group also changes the feel of the trip in the best way. Solo travelers are the norm, not the exception, and shared experiences quickly turn into real friendships. By the end, it is often the combination of India itself and the women you traveled with that makes the experience feel so powerful and lasting.

What Women Say About Our India Tours

K

Katherine S.

Romania

"I was also in India on a Women Travel Tribe tour (with Sakai and Janet Jaffe) and loved the itinerary/experience. After these experiences, it would be hard to go back to the usual tour companies!"
K

Karen F.

Morocco

"I am completing my Moroccan tour and I want to express my appreciation for the professionalism of our driver and tour leader. Both were of the greatest service to our entire group and we enjoyed a beautiful and safe adventure. I particularly want to congratulate this company for finding the jewel who is Luna. Mature, compassionate, a leader, she’s a great human-being. Please pass on my appreciation. You are a great company and I would not hesitate to take another adventure."

India

"As far as the trip, it was fantastic as usual. I will admit I was out of my comfort zone the first few days getting used to the crowds, cows, traffic, and smells. It was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to anyone. Wandering Earl Tours are over the top with the cultural experiences. Never on a large group tour would this adventure be possible."

Marcia H.

India

"It was an adventure. I loved the hands on experiences - the tiger safari surprised me as I did not expect to find this particularly interesting but did. It was both fun and exciting. The morning and afternoon we spent with the weaver and his family -- part of the United Artisans of Kutch -- was one of my favorite moments. The salt flats & the DMZ was interesting too. Actually, I liked most everything. The demonstration by Krishna in Bundi of making masala tea was a treat. Dastkar and safari in Ranthambhore were truly wonderful days. The puppet show! Great!"

"Enjoyed beyond measure everything about this trip. The exceptional group of women, Sakai and our fabulous drivers, Budhiman and Ajay and of course the colorful and welcoming country!"

India

"The trip was not only fun and educational, it was very humbling. The senses were constantly overloaded. It was never boring. It’s definitely not for the faint hearted or those with existing mobility challenges. But I thought it was fabulous. What an interesting group to travel with. And our drivers were beyond the best."

Bali

"Loved this trip! It was well planned and executed with a good variety of activities. Staff were top notch. They were always on time, warm and welcoming, knowledgeable, and met individual needs as they arose."

October through March is generally the best time for many India itineraries, especially Rajasthan and the Golden Triangle. The weather is cooler and more comfortable for sightseeing, markets, and long days out.
